Chelsea Theatre 178 Flinders Street, Melbourne, VIC - Previously known as the Majestic.

Commences Sept 17, 1932 at The Majestic - - Goodnight, Vienna is a 1932 British musical film directed by Herbert Wilcox and starring Jack Buchanan, Anna Neagle and Gina Malo. Two lovers in Vienna are separated by the First World War, but are later reunited.

Information - The Majestic Theatre opened on 31st August 1912 and the architects were Nahum Barnet, Klingender and Alsop.

The three level theatre underwent refurbishment in 1916 and in 1936 had major alterations which included the removal of the second balcony.

Another modernisation took place and it reopened on 10th June 1960 when the name was changed to the Chelsea Cinema, with 1,196-seats. The reopening film was “Porgy & Bess” starring Sidney Poitier & Dorothy Dandridge, presented in 70mm.
