Before AMC took over the theater it was a single screen theater which was family owned with a very small lobby a concession counter, restrooms, and a couple of coin-op video games in the right corner. Space Invaders, and Berzerk if I am remembering correctly. This was in the 1970s. I did attend the grand opening in 1988 when Midway Mall was revamped into the Mall of the Americas, but the first movie I actually remember seeing there was the 1989 Batman. For whatever reason that just stands out in my mind. To the right of the theater before the revamp to the mall was originally a small ice cream shop with a line up of coin-op video games against the wall. After the revamp the ice cream shop was gone and the space was widened and it became a Fun-A-Rama arcade, which was an arcade that was also located in Westland Mall in Hialeah Florida at the time. Midway Mall/Mall of the Americas was/is located in South Miami right off of Flagler Street.
