One might think that these features are 1930s renovations of former organ chambers, but that is not the case. The auditorium walls from the silent era are much further back, behind the present proscenium. The red area is where the painted goddess figure once was. In past years, I have seen the cove lights hidden in the plaster serrated “flames” lamped in blue and green.
