Just says “new print”– it does happen to be booked around the same time as the final cut’s dvd release- so maybe this is the exclusive NYC theatrical run of The Final Cut?

Blade Runner will be running here first week of October. I’m guessing after SNF, we will have the usual 3 films a week till Blade Runner unless they are running a first run release in between.
I can’t see many people showing up for Reloaded and Revoulutions though :) Then again they had Chicago and Spiderman part of the last festival, a little too recent IMO.
Ghostbusters would be great, I suggested that the last time. How bout a Cop week- Dirty Harry, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon. And more directors geared weeks would be great- Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, James Cameron etc. It would be nice they were able to get 70mm prints of these films, half the films in the last two series had 70mm prints made.
Has anyone tried contacting Clearview to see if there will be another one this spring? The way it’s looking they might keep Dreamgirls till early March after the Oscars.
Just checked clearviews site, and Dreamgirls is still there as this Friday. As someone else said they do have a classics series running in NJ which has some of the same titles as the previous series at the Ziegfeld and some new ones (Goodfellas, Goonies, Doors). I assume those three will be part of the next one at the Ziegfeld. At the fall run, they had a suggestions box and I heard that the Spielberg Week was the most successful out of the Fall Classics Series, so I’d expect more 70s/80s stuff if there is another one…
From what I remember opened January 1997, right before the Star Wars Trilogy Special Editions opened. Outside of the three “stadium seating” theaters in here, the rest are shoebox size. Presentation was usually poor here.
Caught Back To The Future here as part of “Spielberg Week” last Wednesday night. Place had a very nice turnout with most of the theater full except the back. Overheard the employees at the theater saying that the Speilberg Week was the biggest selling week of the Classic fest, so I’d expect more 70s/80s era blockbuster films for the next classic run. BTTF print was in nice shape too, unlike Batman from the previous week.
Anyone know when this originally opened and when the Freehold Cinema 6 opened? From what I remember these two theaters split first run films between them before the Metroplex opened, can anyone with a better memory back this up?
I’m pretty sure this opened around Christmas time 1992. Originally was an 8plex and then expanded to 14 screens in the summer of 1996, causing the Freehold Cinema 6 to become 2nd run. Before it expanded to 14 screens, the Metroplex would split up 1st run films with the Cinema 6 with the Metroplex getting the guaranteed hits. The two original bigger auditoriums in here(prior to the expansion) were THX certified.
Craig,
Will there be a classics series in between Saturday Night Fever and Blade Runner?
