I have the organ console and it came to me in pieces. Work has been started on its restoration. A picture of the console is in Dave Junchens Encyclopedia of the American Theatre Organ Vol. 1 (Kimball Organ section)
I’m not so sure it was a Barton installed. I own Kimball chests labeled Lynch Th. North Ave. unless there was another lynch theatre on North Ave. I believe a Kimball organ was installed (the chests are for a 8 rank organ)Greg S.
As the Hamlin, it had a Kimball organ. Originally a 6 rank organ in 1914 and enlarged to 14 ranks in 1924. In 1940 the organ was installed in St. Wenceslaus on Chicago’s north side. The original console was replaced by early barton console with a straight stop rail and several ranks were changed out. I purchased the remains of the organ from the church in 1978.
I just added a Rivoli check tag to my colection from a metal detectorist in Portland, found near the area of the theater.
The Prince had a 3 manual Wurlitzer organ.
Parts of the Kimball pipe organ went into Evanston Township High School, now since removed and into the hands of Theatre organ instalations.
The Kimball organ from this Theatre survives in a Chicago Catholic Church.
