Actually NCG opened in November ‘14. I have seen a couple of shows there and give it a five star rating. The FULL size reclining seats with foot rests can’t be beat. A person can pass to the isle without disturbing other viewers. Popcorn and drinks are unlimited refills. Tuesday’s are $5 admission and popcorn buckets and a drink are $2 off at $7.75. Prices and friendly service cant be beat. I offer no negatives for NCG.
As of August 15, 2014 only about 20% of the screen tower remains. Most of it being taken out in a windstorm in the winter of 13/14. You can still see the blacktop entrance and exit drives on each side of the sign.
Well here are the sign photos including one showing the dual paved entrance drives off 29. Clearly by the time this sign went up the name ‘Circle’ was no longer used.
The sign still stands out on US 29 where the entrance was. The sign reads ‘South 29 Drive In’. Was that the original name? Then it changed to ‘Senic’ and finally ‘Circle South 29 Drive In’? Was the sign a new one put up by Piedmont, without ‘Circle’ so as not to confuse it with the new one over on the Riedville Road at the Circle? I can’t believe that the sign would have been there when it was operating as Senic. If so I wonder what the original 1947 sign looked like.

This was shot from along Fairforest Clevedale Road. US29 and the theater entrance is off to the right of the screen.
