I grew up in Vienna, and spent many Saturday afternoons watching cowboy features, cartoons, serials, etc. for 12 cents. My mother and I would go to see the latest Movietone news of the WWII.Two uncles and my father were overseas.
Some of you will remember that the Western Union office was just down the street, and we all feared that fateful telegram. There were a number of Gold stars in windows around Vienna.
Many of my lessons of life were formed by those movies, and have served me well. I have very fond memories of the Grand.
