This was another of New Bedford’s great theaters. Along the way, it became known as the"dirty movie theatre" because it eventually showcased rated “XXX” movies, and was destroyed by fire.
This was in the south end of the city of New Bedford, Ma. Beautiful!!
The building is still there but, it is a mess inside and used as a storage place for a business.

I used to work at this theatre in the eighties, I loved every moment of it. I started out as the maintenance person and then at the same time worked as a stagehand. I was a single parent bringing up my son.
I" ve worked with Jay Leno, Robert Goulet, Henny Youngman, James Taylor, Livingston Taylor, Chuck Manjoine, an unknown by the name of, Patrick Dempsy at 16 years of age, and my most favorite Ms. Jane Russell. A number of great plays.
I thank God for the blessing of working with not only well-known stars but the different crews of the theatre. God always love & bless the theatre.
