This is the Regent in the late 1950s (from the look of the Riley version of an Austin Cambridge in the bottom right). At the far side of the building is Harris Street, at the near side is the Gladstone Hotel/pub. Harris Street is now blocked off from Deane Road; the cinema and all to the left have been demolished and a road junction with slip roads built (see the street view photo). The buildings beyond Harris Street are extant (2014).
