remember seeing the klansman in this theater starring o j simpson and richard burton in 1974 this theater was located on the east end of the center in the woolworth shopping center and also had a liggett (spell) drug store in there. on montauk highway across the street from a school and funeral home. I belive a suffolk county police officer was also badly wounded in his face from a shotgun blast years later in that same shopping center.

I remember seeing tales from the crypt in the old rialto theater and then having to walk past the old church, and behind the bank and chinese food place, and it was late and dark, and as a young kid you were scared sh##less because you thought one of those crazy you just seen in the movie was lurking behind some garbage dumpster…… ahhh the good old days… sure miss them.

Yes, it was with out a doubt across from patchogue stationary and a couple stores down from chucky’s grill. you could even cut through next to that big church with the big iron gate alley way. thats him tall, skinny, with dark hair combed back, big nose and a pencil thin mustache. I dont know why the name robert sticks in my mind. I know they had done a small ad in the local paper about him having never missed a day of work at the theater I think his sister or something gave the interview, so maybe he had passed away… not sure. take care.

I remember seeing a really tall skinny man dressed in red jacket and black pants who was an usher working at the patchogue theater taking tickets when you walked in. it was on main street across from Grants. it seemed like he was there forever, anybody remember him?

the jerry lewis cinema became a XXX theater and is now a firestone tire, and it is in the home depot shopping center, which was 0nce Grants, then two guys, then caldor. then they tore down caldor and pathmark and built home depot.

I remember the mens room on each side was up these stairs that snaked around the corners, and you always got a double feature. It use to have (the village) supermarket next to it and a bank on the other side of it, and howard johnson’s in the front of the parking lot faceing montauk highway. and even a hardees across william floyd pky next to robert hall clothes.

Anybody remember the old rialto theater on south ocean ave? or the plaza which was uptown heading east towards grants city? then you had the patchogue in town, then to the west you had the sunwave twin cinema up by playworld. my father use to take me to all the theaters when I was a kid, I miss those days. take care.

This theater (coram) closing was no great loss, but the brookhaven multiplex on the south service rd of the expressway at exit 64 was what I thought a really nice theater, and it will be missed.
