  • <p>This is an ORLANDO MORNING SENTINEL advertisement documenting the opening of the Cameo Theatre on November 27, 1940.</p>
  • <p>Photo from the 50’s shows TV repair store next to what was the Cameo.  After the theatre closed, IBM bought the building and turned it into office space, adding a floor, a lobby area to the side of the building and covering the art deco facade and adding the IBM logo.</p>

  • <p>This is Walter Kimble, pictured at the Grand Theatre organ, in the 1920s.  He began his theatre organ career in Titusville, Florida, and assumed the organist post at the Grand after he moved to Orlando.  He was also the organist for the Orlando Municipal Auditorium, now the Bob Carr Center for the Performing Arts.</p>
