I just found a reference to the theater breaking ground in early 1916, not 1919.

2026: this and the theater in Somerville are FOR SALE. In Massachusetts, that usually means THE END :-(

As a side note, the alley next to the building was renamed “Allen’s Alley” to honor the late great comedian Fred Allen. I believe this happened in the mid 1960s.
