I remember when this place opened…..So much nicer than the SeaVue….and after the movie, you could go to Thrifty Drugs in another part of the shopping center and get nickel ice cream cones.
Went there in the 60’s and early 70’s. There wasn’t much for kids to do in Pacifica, so the SeaVue was usually packed. It was kind of run down and dirty then, but on Saturdays in the mid 60’s, you could see a western or a comedy and get stale popcorn and a drink…all for about $.50. One time, maybe about ‘67 or '68, they had a live band play there in the afternoon…Sopwith Camel it was called…big stuff for Pacifica.
The Google map I get for 157 Hickey is the wrong location for the El Rancho. The address shown in the map is for Pacifica. The El Rancho was in Souty City. It was located where the Briarcliffe development is now. Look for Crown Circle—-that is where it was.

Midget cars? I always heard it was a dog track…Maybe both?
And to nearby neighborhoods, add Visitacion Valley..
