Amair – From what I’ve been told, there are two reasons this theater was named Cinedome 70. First, it opened in 1970 and second, it was built to showcase 70 mm films.
I drove by the theater recently and it is now for sale. I guess the cowboy bar dance club thing fell through (thank heavens!) I would really like to see it repaired and reopened as a movie theater. I have great memories of attending movies there, such Star Wars. I’m sure there are a lot of Riverdale-ites out there who feel the same way. We just need a rich one to purchase the property and get back to the movies!
