One more comment- and this is kinda weird. About every 6 months or so, we would run an x rated movie for about a week. This was soft core porn, not the xxx stuff. But you still had to be 18. So I would spend the whole night patrolling the lobby, listening to all the moaning and groaning. 🤣
I was an usher at this theater in high school,72-73. During that time, they only showed first run movies. It was never a discount house. EG- we ran Garden of the Finzi-Contini’s paired with Cabaret in 1972, 7 nights a week at 7 and 9. I also recall Poseidon Adventure, French connection, and the whole Planet of the Apes franchise. So definitely not a discount house. Just felt I should clear that up.
