PHOTO ADDED While staying at a B & B in Lock Haven PA I noticed this window card on the wall from the RIALTO in RENOVA Not to be mistaken with the RIALTO in Canton.
A beautiful single screen theater in the middle of nowhere. First run movies, great snacks, super clean and an incredibly unique auditorioum that needs to be seen in person to truley appreciate. Owner Bridget Callahan is one of the most generous theater managers I have ever met,She loves her job and loves this building. There is a tiny museum in the lobby with books, photos covering the history of the town and the Rialto that is not to be missed. The Rialto was our last stop on a six theater three day tour thruoghout north central PA and will be part of Classic American Cinemas second film this spring. The Rialto is worth the drive.visit and stay for a movie and be sure to save an hour for the museum .Thank you Bridget !! new photos added .
On a few occasions when I have added photos to a listing that had no main photo, then my photo shows up as the main photo with the original lister getting credit for the photo and I always feel kind of cheated. In this case since the listing was from my good friend and long time CT contributor ED BLANK, its my pleasure. May I also say Joe Vogel’s research is just amazing
PLEASE UPDATE TO RESTORING AND RE-OPENING NOVEMBER OF 2023
NEW PHOTOS HAVE BEEN ADDED. NEW OWNER BRYAN FRENCHAK PLANS TO HAVE THE PENN UP AND RUNNING IN MID NOVEMBER OF 2023. I SPOKE WITH JAY BARBER YESTERDAY (09-15-23) THE PENN WILL BE A LIVE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE WITH OCCASIONAL FILM PRESENTATIONS. THERE IS A SPACIOUS EMPTY LOT RIGHT NEXT TO THE BUILDING THEY HOPE TO DEVELOP AS WELL.I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THIS LOCATION OVER THE YEARS AND THIS IS THE MOST PROMISING RESTORATION I HAVE EVER SEEN FOR THIS CLASSIC MOVIE HOUSE .
THIS PHOTO IS ONE OF SEVEN TAKEN 09-15-23 SHOWS THE FULL RESTORATION EFFORT IS WELL UNDERWAY WITH THE PENN . I WAS THERE YESTERDAY AND PLAN TO RETURN IN OCTOBER OF 23 FOR UPDATES, AND MORE INFORMATION
No overview, only one photo,no history,no other theatres for over thirty miles, very sad and lonely. If not for the half a sign left hanging the Vermillion could be mistaken for anything but a Theatre,Kinda reminds me of the Pastime in Ramey PA,without the attached post office.
good news folks !

A photo on the Capitol Theatre web site shows The “Park Theatre” right across the street, but there is no listing for the Park Theatre anywhere. The Green County Courthouse now stands where the Park was located.
This one was a bit tricky because there are three listings for CASCADE theaters in New Castle PA.This information should be correctly linked to the proper location Which is a fairly important part of exhibition history in the United States The Articals and Google link added below to the Photo section should help clear things up . Both articals are from March of 1996.The first was an AP story with no author or photo credit .The second was a Pittsburgh Post-Gazzett story by Bette McDevitt & photo credits to V W H Campbell Jr. For a look at the Current building see the link below
New Photos and information added to the Photo section.
Photo above from an uncredited AP artical from March 15,1996 that appeard in the Greensburg Tribune Review. The link below shows the current location and condition of the Cascade/Knox building in New Castle PA

To 50sSNIPES ,that was my 1st thought a few day ago as well .A Google earth search takes you to the center of a strip mall ,but if you manually search from there the princess is over in the very far corner and sits alone. Of course the google photos are from a while ago and are undated. However the website is still active and as of December 12th there are actually showtimes listed for Ghostbusters afterlife and Encanto. Thoughts and prayers for eveybody over there
On a recent trip to Lancaster with her husband my daughter sent me updated shots of the Rialto intetior. She also imformed me that the RIALTO is actually a “two screen” movie house, one large room for newer films and a small screening room with about twenty seats . New photos added to the photo section …..Photo Credits to Jenn Hagan,Thanks Jenn/Love You
I am kind of shocked that there is no mention of Michael Jacksons “Thriller” in any of the comments or overview for the Palace. Especially since the video is over 35 years old now Close to 800 million views for “Thriller ” on YouTube alone could quite possibly make the PALACE the most famous theaters of all time

Looks authentic to me ! Hello Bruce !
Thanks Ken,with a more complete listing one can now google the address and actually see the building.

Google shows this building today as a law firm
The EVERETT is now UNDER RESTORATION , I have tried to upload new photos and information about upcoming events but keep getting the same message
We’re sorry, but something went wrong.
We’ve been notified about this issue and we’ll take a look at it shortly.

I’m guessing the person who juxtaposed the “B” and the “R” is the same person who took the picture before the manager caught on
