The address given above is not correct. The drive-in was located about 1 ½ miles south of Fort Scott on 69 Hwy. Copy and paste these coordinates 37.784050, -94.703707 in Google maps and you will see the location. The projector house is still there and the screen sat at a diagonal in the southwest corner of the lot. As far as I know it was always called Mo-Kan Drive-in. The Liberty Theatre downtown used to be known as the FOX Theater and later the FOX Twin Cinema. The old drive-in is now owned by Fort Scott Community College and is used for truck driving school.
I have an ancestor that had a stroke and died in Carthage on October 10, 1914. On his death certificate it states that he died in the Hippodrome Theatre, 4th and Lincoln St., Carthage, MO.
