My uncle owned 3 theaters in K.C. during the 1940’s. He and his partners owned the Baltis, the Murray and the Admiral. He would often make the rounds of them and take me and my cousin with him – we were about 8-10 years old. It was very cool because we could get free popcorn. But we only got to see about 20-30 minutes of a movie at each theater. Good memories. As I recall, the Murray only showed cowboy movies.
