That’s my picture, not sure how it got posted here. That is my Grandmother’s writing on the picture. She, Myrtle Paine Waters owned and operated this theatre. My family still ownes the building. It is located next to my grandparents home on Joy Street. We still own the home there as well,it is used current as the office for our family businesses. The Pines building is rented to the Rescue Ministry and BJ’s Flower Basket just recently closed.There were live music shows there with many big, top country stars of the day and they also showed movies. This venue was the first place Dolly Parton played for a paying audience and the theatre was reproduced at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN.
