When I was in 4th grade at Nimmonsburg Elementary I lived above the Town & Country Restaurant (now Dunkin Donuts). We used to walk in through the back and watch movies here in the Summer of 1959.
That Hess was built on the site of the former Henery’s Hamburger next to Endwell Rug.Today it is Express Auto used car sales. I believe the drive-in was a bit further east.
I lived on Munsell St in 1957 and attended 3rd grade Thomas Edison school on Robinson St. The REGAL (Rats Eat Garbage Under Seats) was an empty lot then and is still. The Binghamton Plaza was’t built until 1963. It was constructed on the site of the former Binghamton dump and opening was delayed so that vent pipes could be installed to vent methane gas (from decaying garbage) through the roof.
