Yes it was operated by Carmike. Carmike bought Martin Theatres in the late 70’s or early 80’s (?) but the twin retained the Martin name. I worked for Carmike for 8 years.
That address is for the old Bowling Green Mall. The theatre was located inside the mall. Dollar General (as well as Big Lots) are stores that were added in the early 90’s (I think) and they both have exterior entrances. I have heard that the front of the theatre is boarded over now. The building, or most of it, is owned by Western Kentucky University and I guess they are using some of the interior store spaces. I haven’t been inside the old mall in a long time. I managed the Martin Twin on several occasions, coming over from another theatre in town with the twin’s manager was on maternity leave. It was a fun place to manage.
