That pizza was so good…. SilverRods — Was that the big one on the corner of Church and Utica that had all the newspaper and magazine racks outdoors on Utica — same side of the street as the Rugby or was it the one across the street?
Is this the theater that held the Battles of the Bands in the 60’s or was that the Albemarle? Seems like I remember it was in an area above the theater itself, which would fit the Albemarle’s description and there was an entrance and exit on a side street. Can’t remember exactly anymore.
Best Rugby memories include Saturday 60’s rock ‘n roll shows and Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello movies. There was a pizzeria right by the theater that had some of the best pizza in Brooklyn. Too bad…
