This cinema had BTH Supers projectors in 1960 The chief was a man called Ron Pask a union steward. There was a lot of friction between the projectionist here and us at the Forum, Ealing which backed onto this cinema.
This was a friendly cinema to work at. I enjoyed doing relief here. The projection room was on ground level and straight on to the High Street. One day I had a “Look at Life” running and the top spool box open. The reel fell off and rolled out into the road where a bus demolished it. The rest is history.
This cinema was known as the local flea pit. I say that but it had the most fantastic magnetic sound that any other cinema had in Southall. I remeber seeing “White Feather” here in the 50s and hearing every sound from Robert Wagner saddle and stirups.

We had Ross projectors here with RCA sound system.
You could always smell the hops in this cinema as a brewery was in the car park.
We had Gaumont Kalle 21 projectors in this cinema. Along with Westrex sound system in 1960. My chief was Freddy Montieth.

The projectors we had in this cinema were BTH Supers. Very smooth and reliable. Very good presentation from a very strict chief Tommy Lever.
The Essoldo, Cippenham was demolished many years ago and is now a Courts Carpet warehouse.
