I REMEMBER GOING TO TO CONGRESS JUST 1 TIME IN 1968 MY DAD TOOK ME TO SEE A CHRISTMAS MOVIE ,,I REMEMBER SANTA CLAUSE IN IT ,,THATS IT,, MY DAD USE TO GO SEE THE OLD SPAGHETTE WESTERS THERE ,,SOMETIME AFTER THAT IT TURNED INTO TO THE MEXICO THEATER,,
I remember going to this theater to see movies like hang em high ,Clint Eastwood movies ,,at that time you entered the theater anytime during the movie,,,i would go with my dad ,who was a cab driver ,since the theater was air-conditioned ,he would sleep through the movie 3 times i would leave there remembering it by heart,,thanks Matt
THe Oak,,OMG,, I REMEMBER IT WELL,,I FIRST WENT TO THE OAK,,IN FEB,1982 THATS WHEN I TURNED 18 ,ON THE MARQUIE IT SAID HAD TO BE 18 TO ENTER,,SO ME AND A FRIEND FROM HIGHSCHOOL ,, DECIDED WE WANTED TO SEE WHAT THE OAK WAS LIKE ,,WE,VE SEEN THE PLACE A MILLION TIMES ,, BUT NEVER TRIED TO GET IN,,SO ON THE MONTH OF MY BIRTHDAY ,,WITH ID,S IN POCKET WE CREPT UP TO THE INTRANCE BEING CARE NOT TO BE SPOTTED BY ANYONE WE KNEW,SPORTING DARK,SUNGLASES (AT NIGHT),AND OUR MEMBERS ONLY JACKETS ,WE BOUGHT TICKETS ,WE DIDDNT EVEN GET ASKED FOR OUR ID,S ,,I REMEMBER THE 2 MOVIES ( THE BANGKOK CONNECTION,,AND SCRUPLES ) WE SAT IN THE 1ST ROW DECKED OUT IN NEW LEE JEANS POLO SHIRTS AND OUR JACKETS AND SUNGLASSES STILL ON ,NERVEOUS AS HELL,,, SURROUNDED BY ALL OLDER MEN IN THERE LATE 40,S AND 50,S ,,THE DANCERS WERE FUNNY ALL OLDER WOMEN ,,OLDER THAN US ,WE ONLY REMOVED THE GLASSES TO GET A GOOD LOOK AT THERE BREASTS ,THEN WE PUT THEM BACK ON,,I DONT REMEMBER IF IT WAS AT THE END OR DURING INTERMISSION,, THEY HAD SOME YOUNG PORN ACTRESS ,,THERE FOR PHOTOS ,,A LITTLE GIRL,BUT CUTE ,,FOR $5.00 SHE WOULD SIT ON YOUR LAP,HER ARM AROUND YOUR NECK,AND YOUR HAND AROUND HER WAIST,,LATER IN THE YEAR OF 1992 ,I HAD A NEW GIRLFRIEND ( WIFE NOW) WHO LIKED BAD BOY BLUES THEY WERE THERE LIVE ,,WE DIDDNT GET A CHANCE TO GO REGRETABLE,,SHORTLY AFTER THAT CLOSED DOWN,,SOMETIMES WE STILL GO TO MARGIES CANDIES ,,I WILL LOOK AT THE SMALL DRIVE THRU BANK AND REMEMBER THE OAK,VERY COOL MEMMORIES THANKS,,MATT

Hey thanks ,,life to short ,, i liked the photo,,i remember being at the avon to see those movies that week in july in 1982 me and my ,,we always went to the avon or the logan, every week ,,most of the time they ran very cheezy movies ,,like ,venum,and frogs,i saw them both on the same bill at the avon,,
I remember going to the logan on a monday every week ,, back in the 1980,s i saw christmas story there and flashdance ,holloween,, and so on ,, me and my friend walked down there every week,,it was always noisey ,lots of people from highschool (kelvyn park) sometimes fights ,,but we enjoyed it,,we saw the features then we had gyros at a litttle gyro place on the corner of sawyer and milwaukee ave ,,great days
I remember the armitage back in the 79,,80,,81,, it was the closest to my house me and a friend use to go watch these goofy martial arts ,,movies ,,after sitting thru the features ,,i had to walk home with this nut constantly ,throwing kicks and karate punches at me ,,matt
OMG,,i use to hang around there all the time i loved miwaukee ave as a child ,,and as a teen ,, in the parking area behind the stores as mentioned by rso 1000,, i use to hold make out sessions in the parking area ,during the 1980,s i had a conversion van,, i never knew that was once a theater ,,i hate to see all the beautiful movie palaces disapeer ,,this one was tore down around the time i was born,,i wish i could have seen it,,matt
hers what i remember the Embassy was a ballroom,for many years my dad and uncle were cab drivers ,,they would pick up the patrons after they close ,,,late 70,s 1978 or 1979 era,, during my time in highschool which was kelvyn park 1980 to 1984 the Embassy was transformed into a disco dance spot call ( GENELLS) i beleave thats how it was spelled ,, b96 use to be there they played a lot of mix and house dance music ,,me and my buddy use to hang out in my car at night ( saturday) and pick up the cute puerto rican girls,,when they were looking for a ride home or to keep parting,,i beleave 81,,82,,83,, were the years ,,i use to live very close to there,,thanks matt
