Photo courtesy of Western High School Yearbook class of 1966. This photo probably taken in the 60s was taken by a western high school student or faculty member. Every Friday morning or each Wednesday morning the students of WHS would walk next door to the Stanton for their daily assemblies and be directed only through the lobby to the seats on the first floor and were prewarned that any other part of the building was strictly off limits. After the tragic loss of the Stanton Theatre was demolished WHS was sadly disappointed in losing something very dear to them, a historic theater which was being torn down for a black tarred parking lot.
