While purchasing IMAX 70 tickets for the last day of Oppenheimer, I asked the manager if the theater was still equipped for 5 perf 70mm and she said they were NOT. Sniff. Does anyone know what happened to the 70mm projectors installed for Hateful 8?
Greetings from Center City. I just wanted to let everyone know that the IMAX 70 presentation of Dunkirk was stunning. The staff at the UA KoP did a great job. My opening weekend, Sunday morning screening had perfect sound and only a few dust bunnies. I asked if they knew anything about presenting Murder On The Orient Express in 70mm but neither the weekday nor weekend manager was aware of it. It was worth the premium ticket price and drive from south Jersey.
Large format film fans should note that a 70mm projector was installed for the Hateful Eight Roadshow. Does anyone know if the projector is still there?
Hello moviemachine, My Grandfather Max Moskovitz was a projectionist at the Fox, any chance you worked with him. The only movie I remember seeing ther was Superman. I watched the movie from the booth. As an eleven year old I couldn’t understand why I had to watch it without any sound and wasn’t allowed to go down to the theater. I guess the neighborhood had gotten a little rough by 1978.
