Well, it’s Feb 2007 and the Canton Cinemas is absolutely thriving! I do not like the Emagine Megaplex nor do dozens of others I know. Emagine is way too big, way over-priced ($50-$60 for a family of 4 to see a show with refreshments) and nothing but an obnoxious teenie-bopper hangout.
I remember the guy building the Emagine quoting in the paper “Well I just assumed the Canton 6 would go out of business after I opened” (Nice guy, huh)?
Well sorry Mr. Megaplex. People like the hometown friendliness, the great price ($3.00, 95% of the time and always $3 for students, kids and seniors) and the newspaper coupons ($1.50 for drink and popcorn). The owner and the staff are great at Canton Cinemas. The redecorating and stadium seating are awesome too.
