I worked at Ridge Plaza after my senior year in 1980. The theater ran “Empire Strikes Back” most of that summer, and the other big draw for Ridge Plaza (at least in those days) were the Friday night “Rocky Horror” showings at midnight.
Actually, the theaters were tucked in the northeast corner of the shopping center between a handful of smaller shops which faced the west, and a landscape supply/nursery that faced south. But the theater was very hard to see from either Ridge Rd. or Cline Ave., and the signage was never that good to begin with.
By time I transferred to Howard Univ. in DC in January of ‘83, the Georgetown played the X-rated 1979 version of “Caligula” all day every day.
