Here’s that story from the Escanaba Daily Press, June 10, 1953. I have no copyright interest in this clipping, which I have uploaded for the “fair use” scholarly historic purpose of documenting the opening of the old US-2. Also, it opened on a Tuesday. What’s up with that?
