Clark, the noted architect from Ashland, Oregon, The theater was opened on December 29, 1919 just a couple of days before new years. There were earlier theaters in Grants Pass, beginning in 1906, namely the Bijou, The Star, The Gaiety, The Oregon, The Joy. Later theaters were the State, and then the Rogue Theater constructed in 1937.
