this place is not customer friendly i tried using the phone no. to find a movie between all the advertising and push 2 for this 3 for that it took 20 minutes to find the movie very frustrating give me the old school theatre any day!!!
Hey last time i checked it cost over $100.00 to go to a ball game and about $20.00 to $30.00 for parking $10.00 beers and $8.00 hot dogs no one complaims about this though.
I do not agree with the high prices of refreshments at the theatre chains but that does not mean you should sneak in your own food. Mr. Wolfe runs a first class second run theatre with affordable prices but most people instead of supporting their local theatres ( not many left) have to see the movie the first day or weekend when it comes out and complain about high ticket prices what hippocrates 10.00 for a movie is still a entertainment value

Reading that article saddens me here were a couple that put their hear soul and life savings into this thing and couldnt make it work I wish them both the best and hope they can put their lives back together. If they were a failing bank or car company the govenment would bail them out. So much for small businessmen.
This place is great the McGrane family is friendly and make you feel at home its awesome getting a burger or fries at the concession stand the kids play ball or frisbee before the show reminds me of old simpler times they even play the old intermission snack ads between shows if your in the area support it its a piece of americana that needs to be treasured.
yea they have closed and are selling off 4 Showcase cinemas in Conn. and rumor has it more are going to be sold to pay Mr. Redstones large debt. I can hear the crumbling…….
With all the readings of theaters closing daily it is great to here of the wonderful story of this theaters success and its long time devoted owner !!!!
Apparently he has to sell some of his cinemas to pay off his debts these 4 in Conn. were already closed so i would think he will continue selling any closed cinemas or any non Profit ones but as Roger Katz has mentioned in previous articles they will not sell any one of their cinemas to anyone that wants to run them as cinemas but I wonder as he needs more and more money if Mr. Redstones view will change.
On the news in Conn. it says Showcase Cinenas in Orange has been sold to United Illuminated Electric Company, and 3 other closed locations will be sold in the spring, and the empire is crumbling!!!
Mpol im glad you said what goes around comes around maybe this will help keep some of the small independant theatres alive after all America is built on small Businesses!!!
heard on the news today this was sold to united illuminating and 3 other showcases are being sold in the spring not sure who to but it appears redstones empire is falling

The cinema is now closed as has been for a few weeks. Please change status to Closed..
the snack bar was not in the auditorium like the forest theatre in West Haven.
the state theatre had 216 seats in each auditorium
