I remember going to the drive-in as a little girl. I remember seeing “The Flying Horse, Mutiny on the Bounty and Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds”. We had a station wagon back then so we could lay out in the back while watching the screen. I remember the playground in the front. We could play there until about 7:00pm before the movie began. There was a sound box at every parking spot so you could hear the movie. I could not when the drive-in was no longer there. I can also remember the intermission with the clock ticking on the screen to give you just enough time to use the bathroom or purchase items at the concession stand. That was a great family adventure. I sure wish we could bring the drive-in back to this area. I think of it often when I pass by the shopping center located there now. I really miss it because great memories were made there.
