I love this theater. It plays a lot of art house fair along with Hollywood blockbuster. The theater is well kept with plenty of parking. It is also equipped with digital projection.
This theater had great potential. But it’s current state, at its worst, is quiet sad. The only theater were I walked out in the middle due to horrible presentation problems.
This used to be a good multiplex. The last 5 years hasn’t been good to this theater. Always pulling in the wrong crowd. They don’t even post what movies they are showing at the entrance anymore.
Foreign/Art house movies will be a great addition to movieworld. They were playing Indian films on one of their screens during the weekends and pulling huge crowds of Indian families from Bellerose and Floral park. Whatever to keep the theater at afloat. Now if they can follow the path of the Kew Garden cinema’s footsteps in keeping a clean and modern theater.
Hands down the best multiplex on Long Island. Great digital sound system, awesome curved screens, comfortable stadium seats, clean restrooms. And best of all, they are consistent in giving good movie presentations 99% of the time. Weekends are very crowded but well behaved. Due to the lack of public transportation the theater doesn’t really attract the “wrong” crowd like Roosevelt field.
