I went there in the late 1980’s when they were showing classic movies and some recent ones to raise money for the restoration on Saturday nights. There would be a trivia contest to win tickets for future showings between showings. I was saw a Nelson Eddie & Jeanette McDonald movie also a Clara Bow talking movie “The Wild Party, also a Lou Diamond Phillips movie.
The Capawock Theater is currently closed and is available for rentals.
I discovered this theater on my vacation to Martha’s Vineyard,God willing it doesn’t get demolished,theaters like this are a dieing breed and are almost extinct.
I wish it a hopeful future, someone with resources please come save it.
I was at the Babylon theater Halloween party in 1966 with costume contest that was 1pm, I don’t remember a Matinee showing which would have been at 2pm.

Looked it up and the matinee movie showing at 2pm Saturday October 29,1966 was “HOW TO STEAL A MILLION” with Audrey Hepburn and Peter O'Toole.
