The State Theater had it’s final movie screening on June 14, 1979 (“Beyond The Poseidon Adventure”). All the individual theaters in Winona were officially closed as the Cine 4 opened on June 15, 1979.
The West End Theater opened on January 16, 1921 and closed on May 31, 1957. It was re-christened the Cinema and re-opened on October 9, 1968. The final Cinema movie screening was on May 30, 1979 (“Ice Castles”).
