I loved the loews, to me it was so cozy, you know the balconies, marble staircases, water fountains in the marble walls, it was an awesome theater. I saw Star Wars, Grease, The Warriors, and countless other movies there. To me the Loews is still there because its massive frame still exists. The only thing that stunk was the sticky floors, but now I wish I had those sticky floors back.
I saw Jaws 2, Dawn of the dead, countless other movies there. This theater was one of my favorites, because it was easy to sneak into other movies! I had great memories there and I will never forget them.
The benson was an institution in bensonhurst. Despite the foul odors in the bathroom and the nasty lady with the flashlight,I had some great memories there. I saw Superman, The Deep, Return of the Jedi, Jaws, and countless other ones. It was hard to sneak into the other movie though, unlike the loews or Marboro which was really easy. It was so sad to see these theaters close down.
Thanks Vinny Bklyn for the image , I got chills when I saw it.
