Does the theater still have 2 for one on tuesday’s?????It was a great date theater… quiet and cheap with tons of flavor.last picture seen there was The Last of the Mohicans.Great to see that it will survive.
My theater from early 70’s to early 80’s when it closed. My favorite movies seen there were the james bond movies, carrie, cheech and chong, the pink panther and of course the warriors.sad to see it go.I miss sneaking in the fire exit door on perry avenue.and the rows and rows of seats that sometimes feel down.I also remember hearing stray cats meowing in the theater.great place at a reat time for Norwood.
The last movie I saw there was called Frankenhooker.Somewhere around 1987.It was this indy film that paralleled the quiry, off beat and insane vibe that this theatre exuded.I miss it often and I am sad with the prospect that a chain store is coming in.Kim’s video left the exterior alone.Hopefully Duane reade will do the same.I hope one day that someone will bring it back to it former glory. It happened in the Bronx with the Loew on the grand concourse so anything is possible..I guess.
