After four phases of construction, renovations are nearing completion and a grand reopening date has been set for October 1, 2022. ‘The REES’ will feature a new live performance stage and balcony, an LED video wall for the presentation of film and flexible seating for 225 patrons. www.reestheatre.com
The REES Theatre closed it’s doors on December 22, 2009 after the final showing of the movie Old Dogs. The building was purchased by two downtown business owners in 2014. In January of 2017 a private couple’s gift allowed for the transfer of ownership to The Wythougan Valley Preservation Council and a not for profit The Rees Theatre Inc. has been established. With a strong leadership group and successful community fundraising in place the theater is set to re-open in its 80th anniversary year 2020. Visit: www.reesproject.com
