Restored Keith Albee sign reinstalled 5 23 2012

The newly restored Keith Albee Theater Sign at night. This is the first time in more than 60 years that the entire sign has been working. Approximately in the 1940s the sign was changed with the removal of the lamps and installation of red neon letters. The original sign had lamps for the letters and chaser lights around the outside edge. The sign was restored by Paris Signs, Huntington, WV. The sign was restored using the original Copper facades and new LED lamps. It is stunning. At some point I will post a video of the sign in action on my facebook page “Keith Albee Theater Organ” So look for it there.

The sign was lit at night for the first time on Thursday May 24, 2012 at the Premiere of the History Channel’s production of “Hatfields and McCoys” The production is the brainchild of Darrel Fetty (Milton, WV) native and Trifecta Productions of Huntington. The mini-series will premiere on the History Channel on Monday May 28 and run for 3 nights. Check it out.
