Located at the intersection of S. Main and Hiram Clark in SSW Houston. Opened in 1970 but not sure when it was closed, probably in the mid 80’s. For several years, the site was used as an outdoor flea market. The 3 screens were demolished, however the concession stand remained as an office bldg for the flea market. The site is now the “Lake View RV Resort” with a small lake where the concession stand once stood.
Wow, this goes back a long way. Known as the Southgate Red and Blue – two screens. This Tercar theater opened in 1970 with “Paint Your Wagon” and “Airport” as the opening features. The theater closed about 1975 or 1976.
The AMC 14 in Meyer Park, the nearest competitor – about 5 minutes drive from Meyerland Plaza, closed in 2007.

I remember seeing a special showing of “Giant” when Spectrum opened in 1988. Last film I saw there was “Titanic”. Hard to believe this place is gone.
Ed, yes, the original Houston roadshow engagement for “Doctor Zhivago” was at the Windsor. “Battle of the Bulge” was the prior engagement.
