I had just moved to this side of town when this theater was on it’s last days. I saw FIREFOX and SUPERMAN II at this theater. It was nothing spectacular just nice memories.
This was a pleasant drive-in to go to. No rowdy people just a good time. I remember walking to the concession stand and my feet would sink into the little stones and rocks they had all over the lot. The last movie I saw there was Friday the 13th IV in 1984. Towards the end of it’s existence they would show porno which I didn’t know @ the time was a sign of struggling times.
This along with the San Pedro Drive-Inn were the only theaters I knew of growing up on that side of town in the late 70’s. I was able to catch one last movie there (The Untouchables in 1987) before it closed for good. Nice memories…good tiimes.
