Hello trefromoz and PhillipGrace. I probably worked with both of you when I was assistant at Russell 4/5/6. They were very fun and eye-opening days as a 15-16 year old assistant working with Ray, Cliff, Bob(x2) and others. (Prior to that, assistant Bercy and relief assistant at all GUO cinemas). Trevor gave me the best challenge, with my first 70mm live screening changeovers on Raiders Of The Lost Ark and letting me run the show under his supervision. I am now semi retired after a 40 year career in another industry. I hope you are all doing well.
Looks like cinema 1 bio box. (Due to the 35/70mm Vic 8 machines + shallow rake angle). It originally had Cinemeccanica xenon lamphouses. The Forum cinemas also had Supersol boxes. Did these come from there? There was also originally no platter system installed.
Going by the position of the door and ducting in the background, it looks like projector 1 of cinema 4. The curtain/lighting buttons were different when I worked there in 1982 / 83. There was no platter at that time. Back then they used ~12000ft tower spools. The xenon rectifier also looks different to what was in use in 82/83.
