The Broadmoor in the days before they didn’t just let anyone in was open to the public. The theater was operated by Westland in the 60s. Employees got in for free.
I was there on opening day it was a 70mm with very large cerved screen and full six track stero sound. I was a beaitful theater with beitful gold curtens.
I went there often in the 60s then in the 70s urban renewal wanted everything modern in the springs so they said the building was unsafe so they tor it down and believe it the put up a parking lot
I was there on opening day. The theater was beautiful with gold curtains the carper was blue the wood trim was walnut. The screen was oval. They played wounder full stereo music before the movie started. The lights would Dem the curtains slowly open it was an experience. To bad the new theaters don’t have beautiful curtains any more.
