As a child we would go to the matinee on Saturday afternoon. This was from around ‘55 to '58. We would get there around 12.30 with a batch of comics to swap before the starting time at 1.00pm and then again at half time. Usually one cartoon, three serials and a main picture. A Kreamy Toffee cost 6d. Fish & Chips shop was opposite. Six scallops for 2/–. Great times!!
