This theater was a sanctified church for as long as I can remember. It sat next door to my grandfather’s laundrymat just across the alley. I have a great picture that I would love to download if someone could tell me how to do it. This is another piece of my childhood I’m sad to see go!
I remember when I was a kid and we went to
St. Brendan School just north and west of here. It was Carr’s department store then. Kids weren’t allowed in. I was just curious as to what was in there because I’d never been inside. When it closed in the 80’s, my bestfriend and I went in there in its final days. It looked like the set of a haunted movie. When I was a kid, I never realized that it had been a movie theater.

My sister and I used to go to the Jerri Barrington School of ballet up above this theater in the mid 80’s.
