I don’t know if this theater actually is a CINEMA TREASURE… But growing up in Mid-Del area in the 80’s-90’s I have fond memories of this concrete block box of a theater. I want to say I saw one of the Star Wars movies here. So I guess it is a Treasure to me. I even liked it as a shooting range! New to adding theaters and all but if you know the address of the Mall part of heritage park theater I would add this one too Kevin. Another theater not all that Treasure like but I saw alot of flicks there as well.
Sad to see now part of marque<sp> is gone as of 1 week? ago. I was there for a Slipknot Kittie concert/riot. few years ago. Promoter over sold the show and headliner Slipknot wouldn’t go on after Fire marshal removed all people not seated in chairs. The youth did not like this and did some damage while leaving…
Yes or South Side Rock Club when I worked at a strip club behind it. Don’t quote me on this but I think that the guy that owns the building now has his office in the Victoria Theater 19th and classen. And prob owns the building where Three balls adult theater is. His office I think has part of the procenium arch of the Victoria theater visible.
The rough research I’m doing now suggests that this is same theater as South Shields 2 aka “The movies” same address from 1978-86 then 87-2000 became Shields Plaza 8 but is also on here as south shields mall twin
I once rented a spotlight to Planet Earth club 1993-94? for a DEICIDE concert there. The entire back line (guitar amps) were running on an extension cord and plugged into the projection booth. Seventy five feet of extension cord WAY overloaded gets HOT!!! :) It kept popping the breaker when I would run the little spotlight and the lead singer of the death metal band Deicide told the crowd over the sound system he was going to sacrafice me to the devil if it went off again. Wow I loved those days… And I didn’t get paid.
Theater is now closed and for sale last time I looked. (three weeks ago?) I worked for a Curtain Company in OKC and once worked on the curtain motors there (one to make the screen wider pannavision?think. Wasn’t this a I.A.T.S.E. union projection house?
