I grew up in Algiers Point in the mid 1950s thru 1978 and had gone The Algy many times before it closed. The lack of A/C never bothered me. I lived in the neighborhood of only a few blocks away. The other movie theatres in Aklgiers I went to was the Abalon and the Fotos Follies right down the street from the Albalon.
