I so love the interior of this theatre. I actually didn’t remember it until I saw the photo here but it’s the most creative thing I’ve ever seen in a cinema’s design. Did Famous Players do this “street of theatres” design in any of their other theatres, and if so, are any of them still around?
This theatre is quite near to my heart, I attended the Canadian premiere of the first Harry Potter movie there as a 10-year-old in 2001. It was the first one-screen cinema I had ever been to. What a shame it’s no longer operational.
I was the event manager at the time, I remember you guys! You can’t see me but I’m sitting in the back right of this photo haha.

DOT Furniture has moved in to the retail space adjacent to this theatre and has painted the exterior blue. Kind of weird to see after all these years.
^ Film.Ca is the same company as Encore. Same management. The name was changed to reflect that it is no longer a second run theatre.
This theatre has a similar design to the Oakville Mews. Any other Drabinsky era Cineplexes still around with the original interiors?
