Built and opened in Patriot Square in the Summer of 1990 by Entertainment Management Corporation as Entertainment South Dennis Cinemas, an 8 screen movie complex. Expanded to 10 then 12 screens until bought by Hoyt’s Cinemas in 1997. Regal Cinemas acquired 52 Hoyt’s United States cinemas in March 2003, which included South Dennis. Regal allowed the 25 year lease to expire, which was then purchased by original owner, Entertainment Cinemas in July 2005. Completely rebuilt with all digital projection and stadium seating, reopened in November 2005 as Entertainment South Dennis Cinemas 10. Refitted with recliner seating in early 2024.

The Orleans Theatre was built in 1936 by the Wilcox family as a Stage/Movie Theatre. A single screen venue with 599 seats. In December 1969, the theatre was purchased by Interstate Theatres and renamed the Orleans Cinema. In 1977, Interstate twinned the auditorium 306/255. In 1988, Hoyts Cinemas purchased Interstate Theatres and ran Orleans seasonal only in 1988 and 1989, after which it closed and sold to a retail developer. The building was and still is leased to the CVS Pharmacy chain.
