Wizardtroy here, Good news I hope but we will see want we. Talked to the church at the Playtime D. I. here in Jax and they have been trying to get in touch with me for sometime now. Good news has it that a very wealthy man wants to reopen it before a trucking company gets its claws in it. Will update as I go.
This theatre was built in the spring of 1977 by who was martin & davis but then a man named cumba married one of martins daughters to become MCM Theatres Inc. In 1987 a man named McKisset bought it to be Litchfield.McKisset died in his plane crash and it was bought by regal.
Is it still there? I remember going over there to rebuild the projector in screen 1 & adding surround sound with more speakers & installing screen 2. The surround sound scared everybody because of the sound update,,, LOL… It was soo real…
Woops 32209. The theatre it self was only 45 feet wide by 200 feet long. The two buildings to the right of it used to be a motion picture production lab back in mid to late 60’s.It was American Productions inc. and they shot and edited movies such as “Fireball Jungle” starring John Russel.
